Fashion events are always fabulous…but fashion events that focus on the chic styles of the 60’s are even better!
That being said Chicago’s Fashion Follows Interiors: A “Mad Men” Event didn’t disappoint held October 16th at The Blackstone Hotel. Raising money and student scholarships for the Columbia School of Arts and NEWH (National Education Hospitality Design Industry), 9 designers competed in a runway contest using interior design products from the Chicago Merchandise Mart, each creating a 1960’s inspired garment.
After a red carpet entrance, guests mingled and sipped Hennessy Black drinks, including my favorite, a strawberry and jalapeño margarita. With a clear 60’s vibe the attendees danced to music of the era, many of whom donned modern-retro garb as well. Elisa Hunt, entertained as well, with songs of Ella Fitzgerald. The Glossed and Found photo booth provided a fun opportunity for guests to play it up Mad Men Style, posing with props common for the era.
Which of the above designs are your favorites? I reveal mine below!
