A fresh face for fall is one trend every lady can jump on. Celebrity and event makeup artist, Josephine Fusco agrees stating, “Because the bold lip hues are taking over for fall, it’s nice to keep the face with a clean palette.” And one of the first things we should turn to for achieving the look is a just-right foundation. “My recommendation for glamming it up without looking overdone is to find a matte foundation that sits well on your skin without drying it out.” Have you all seen the amazing BeautyBlender Sponge? Josephine says this is one tool which will easily help us create a fresh fall face. Dampen the sponge first and, “apply the foundation in dabs onto the face. In a stipple motion, blend it out.” Here are the makeup products (including the budget-friendly buys) Josephine is turning to this fall to create this look:
Eyes - A neutral colored eye is great with a bold lip. Add a little bit of concealer to your upper and lower eyelids and set it with powder. Smudge in a nice neutral brown eyeliner to the upper lash line and add a few coats of mascara.
- Brown Eyeliner: It Cosmetics No-Tug Anti-Aging Waterproof Silk Eyeliner Duo
- Mascara: Eyes to Kill Mascara by Georgio Armani or Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black
Blush - Add just a hint of color to the apples of your cheeks.
Josephine also says you can take the focus of the lips onto the eyes with a more colorful eye pallette. “Blue colored hues are in! And green is in with vengeance for fall!” For a modern take on the blue trend, “look for an eye shadow palette to give you all the colors to create a bold statement with blue.” Two of her favorites:
“If you’re nervous to go all out with the blue eye shadow, then I suggest applying a soft sheen color to the entire lid like Mirenesses Super Long Wear Gel in Marshmallow. Then use a blue eyeliner (try Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes in Green Forest or Majorelle Blue) and gently trace it along the upper lash line. Extend the outer corner just a bit for a very soft extension of the lid. Don’t worry if you can’t get it straight – use a Q-Tip or your ring finger to smudge it.”
Many thanks to Josephine for helping keep each of us pretty for autumn!
