With the hustle and bustle of the season and such a short timeframe between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I welcomed a few minutes of downtime to pick through the December Beauty Box 5. Like always, the team at Beauty Box 5 put together a box perfect for the season with an arrangement of products I hadn’t previously tried. Really, that’s one of the best things about this subscription box…I love being introduced to new things on the beauty scene!
Jaqua Raspberry Buttercream Frosting Hand Crème (Deluxe Travel Size, $12.50): I’ve tried Jaqua body scrubs before (and loved them) but never their hand lotions. Needless to say, as soon as I massaged into my palms, it was true love. It’s rich but not greasy and it smells delicious. Like, kinda made me want a cupcake delicious!
Absolute! New York Nail Polish Remover Pads (Full Size, $2.99): I have mixed feelings about this. I love the compact size and the fact that it’s full of healthy ingredients like Vitamins C and E. And the smell…OMG, I can’t imagine you’ve ever smelled a nail polish remover this pleasant. The two things I wasn’t keen on: 1) it had a hard-time removing glitter and 2) it was almost too oily. Those two things said, it took off regular polish fairly easy and really, have you ever complained about a nail polish remover being oily? I know that’s likely because of the Vitamin E, so I guess pick-your-poison, right?
Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Moisturizer (Deluxe Sample, $10): Since the full size is $65 I was excited to have the opportunity to try this. Not only are Juice Beauty products free from the yucky stuff our skin really can do without, the ingredient list is full of certified organic ingredients, including a variety of juices, apple buds and Vitamin C. Oh, and in case you’re still not convinced…check out the reviews, 5 star after, 5 star, after 5 star!
Nanacoco Beatbox (Full Size, $3.95): A variety of colors were given this month, but I’m so happy I got this one. The blue and purple isn’t just festive, it somehow seems so right for winter. These will look gorgeous as an overlay for a variety of hues, including black, white, pink and numerous blues. Plus Nanacoco products really do rock!
Lucky Brand Lucky Number 6 (Sample Size, $1): So you guys, I’m such a perfume snob. And there’s nothing wrong with this scent – a mix of lotus, tiger lily, cashmere woods and jasmine – it’s just not mine (snobby, I know). So, while I probably won’t buy a full size of this for myself, I know I won’t have a problem giving it to a friend.
Also included was an intro gift to Lilee in the form a code for free jewelry when subscribing to this new box, which includes not just beauty products, but fashion items, coffees and tees and even home goods!
The total value of the December Beauty Box 5 was $30.44 for a savings of between $18.44 and $22.19. Pretty good for products either myself or a friend will quickly use up.
New members can sign up for Beauty Box 5 three different ways:
- By the Month – $12/Box
- By the Quarter – $30/3 Boxes ($10/Box)
- By the Year – $99/12 Boxes ($8.25/Box)
And for those Christmas shopping procrastinators out there, women everywhere will adore either a subscription to Beauty Box 5 or Lilee!
Happy December all and a very Merry Christmas!
