Event Recap: Vineyard Vines Kentucky Derby Event in Chicago

Vineyard Vines Event at Del Frisco's in ChicagoI can admit, that when I think about the Kentucky Derby, it has less to do with horses and more do with hats. And dresses. And a tasty mint julep or two. So when I had the opportunity to attend the Vineyard Vines 2014 Kentucky Derby party held at the lux Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, sitting amongst stores like Christian Louboutin and Vera Wang in the Gold Coast, I grabbed a couple of my girls and headed out. Del Frisco’s, occupying three floors of the historic Esquire Theater, was the perfect location as the lavish interior was a just-right compliment to gorgeous dresses (and bow ties) seen on attendees.

Of course, men and women looking for perfect Derby attire could turn to event sponsor, Vineyard Vines, as the official style of the Kentucky Derby, to properly outfit them. Ladies were dressed in their favorite springtime frocks, while men were stylishly sporting colorful bowties, pocket squares and suits.

With a full bar, all guests could enjoy Woodford Reserve Mint Juleps, complimentary 14 Hands Wine and tasty bites, while watching the race (which mostly means mingling and enjoying the day with friends). Event hosts included Heidy Best of BECLOTHESMINDED, Amelia Canham Eaton from The CHICago Life Blog, Mark Beier from Shred 415, and Chicago’s Splash Magazine’s Zak Stemer and Ramzi Dreesen. All-in-all, Vineyard Vines, Splash, 14 Hands Winery and Del Frisco’s created the perfect Saturday afternoon event and a great time was had by all!
