September Beauty Box 5: Balancing Act

September signifies so many things – fall (boo, I already miss summer), boots and sweaters (two things that help me cope with summer’s absence), and a ridiculously crazy month (I’m ready for a vacation). Undoubtedly, this month’s Beauty Box 5, Balancing Act, arrived at a perfect time. I might not understand it, but regardless of how busy I get, I usually (almost always) manage to keep it together, but hey, it never hurts to have a few pretty products to help me get through the craziness, right? Whether taming tresses, brightening eyes or giving ourselves a fall-hued manicure, this month’s Beauty Box, definitely helps to bring the Zen. Namaste mamacitas.

Beauty Box 5 Review, Eye Makeup in Purple, Fall Nail Polish

Lashem 3 in 1 Eye Bright, Natural Style by FUBU, Conditioner and Co-Wash, Sally Hansen Toe Spacers

My Beauty Spot Nail Polish, Nicka K Eye Light Crayon

Nicka K Eye Light Crayon Review, Purple Eye Shadow

Nicka K New York Eyelight Crayon in Violet (Full Size, $4.49): I’ve been reluctant to try this as I just can’t picture myself with purple eye makeup. However, when I drew my fancy little heart, I realized it’s much more sheer than I was thinking it would be. I’ll definitely be dabbling with this shade over the weekend. Thanks for getting me out of my shell!

Natural Style by FUBU Deep Conditioner & Co-Wash (2 Samples, $1 each or $9.99 for 12 oz.): I think I’ll be hoarding these for the really cold weather this upcoming winter. 100% sulfate and paraben free, it’s also equipped with their Miracle 9 Complex which includes natural ingredients like organic shea butter, bamboo oil and virgin coconut oil.

Sally Hansen Toe Spacers (Full Size, $1.99): I wouldn’t have called myself giddy when I saw these as I don’t really use toe spacers, but just today on the Beauty Box 5 Facebook page, I saw this ingenious video for adding a dramatic touch to manicures using spacers and I got a little excited. And then I visited their blog and saw other smarty-pants ideas and I realized just how great these spacers really are.

My Beauty Spot Nail Polish (1 Full Size Polish, $4.16 or $24.99 for a set of 6): This bold color is perfect for the season! I actually tried this right out of the box – it’s thick but goes on smooth and it dries crazily quick. The one downside? I thought it smelled a little stronger than most, but even so the pretty hue and dry-time make up for it.

LashEm 3-in-1 Eye Bright (Deluxe Sample, $13.60 Value or $40 for Full Size): I’m anxious to start patting my eyes with this before bedtime. The LashEm line has such an incredible reputation and if this lifts, firms and brightens tired eyes, the money is well spent.

Total value of the September Beauty Box 5 was $26.24 for an overall savings of between $14.24 and $17.99!
