Feelin’ the Flares

Welcome to the last week of September ladies! Can you believe we’re nearly to October? I kind of have a love/hate relationship with October…so much to look forward to with everything that winter brings and yet, so much I’m definitely not ready for, like the crazy cold weather. Although, has anyone else heard this winter is supposed to be a bit more mild compared to the last few? I hope so…with my windows still open, thinking about 20 below has me cringing. BUT, I do still become overjoyed with the occasional snow day. It’s the absolute perfect excuse for an all-day pajama-day and a big pot of soup!

I’m getting ahead of myself however…back to fall:) So, I’m dying to know, do you guys love or hate the wide-leg/flared jeans trend? Skinny jeans are still my favorite, BUT, I don’t mind a flare every now and again. For me, they’re a bit more tricky as my vertically challenged self has to get the silhouette just right…and, the leg openings are usually bigger than my feet, soooo…I need to pick the exact right pair of shoes or it appears that I’m either footless or walking on air. And here’s a confession…I never got rid of the ones below from a few years ago when they were “on trend.” I love them paired with the striped top, complete with elbow patches…kind of a modern-70’s vibe.

One huge women's trend for fall is flared jeans. While bell bottoms tend to come and go, the silhouette is updates with a relaxed fit through the seat and looks super chic as a high waist jeans.

Ladder or connected necklaces are a great way to add instant impact to any outfit. Thick chains can look heavy, and usually smaller chains and stones will look great on everyone.

A perfect option for fall is this gold hued carryall. With pockets to fit everything you might need, the cordury outer is unique and perfect for the season.

I love mixing and matching neutral pieces. One way to make neutral outfits pop is through the use of a bright accessory or two, such as the bag, shoes or belt.

Wondering what shoes to wear with bell bottoms? For those with a shorter stature, either opt to alter jeans accordingly so flats can be worn with them, or keep the length and find a killer pair of heels, like these Michael Kors beauties.

I love rings that are a little unexpected - they're perfect for women who want edgier looks without being over the top.

Here’s to some Monday inspiration I’m borrowing from J. Lo’s Instagram she posted today…enjoy♥:

“Take chances. Take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it always ends up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you, and be okay with it.”
