Small Steps to Better Confidence + the CUTEST Gingham Top for Summer!

Small Steps to Better Confidence + the CUTEST Gingham Top for Summer!

You may have seen this outfit a couple of weeks back on Instagram. So cute, right??? I will however say, I was initially kinda uncomfortable in it. Not because it was uncomfortable. But because, well, I don't wear a lot of skirts with slits up to there (I mean, who do I think I am? Angelina Jolie?). I also don't wear a lot of shirts that show my stomach (I don't have rock-hard abs afterall) all that often anymore. And yet, here I found myself at this photo-shoot wearing a skirt with a slit up to there and a top I intentionally cropped.

Basic Summer Outfit Staples to Wear Again and Again

So if you're in a summer style rut, or just want to have a few go-to pieces that you can easily mix-and-match or throw on for last minute BBQ's, I've got some perfect outfit ideas for you. How absolutely adorable is this Tommy Hilfiger top from Macy's, BTW? I love the loose fit, which makes it great for a hot day, but  perfect if you love a good half-tuck or knotted look like I do. The navy stars are just-right for summer and make it so easy to coordinate with any of your favorite cutoffs or jeans.

Go-To Jumpsuits for Summer

Go-To Jumpsuits for Summer

Alright, so let's talk go-to summer pieces. Jumpsuits guys. That's it. Each and every summer, I gravitate to them like a bird to a nest. I found this cute peek-a-boo one at Target earlier this spring, ironically, when I was looking for nothing clothes-related. But you know, it's Target. And it's v hard to not just take a quick peak through the clothes. And then take a quick trip to the dressing room. And then rationalize why you need a new jumpsuit, where you'll wear it to and make a deal with yourself that you'll never buy another jumpsuit ever again if you get this one (which is such a lie, and I know it, but still). So, I got it. And honestly, I have worn it a multitude of places and I don't even remember the silly little whatever I actually went to Target for in the first place.

The Sweater you Need for Summer Nights

…But first, I bring you, "What to Wear on a Cool Summer Night." In about three months, I'll regurgitate this to, "What to Wear on a Warm Fall Day." My Favorite Bags for Summer

My Favorite Bags for Summer

I used to not really care much about my handbags. I had a couple of neutral bags that I was content with...I'd switch them out every season and all was fine. But the past few months...well...I kinda want a different bag for every outfit. No need to criticize...I don't actually have a different bag for every outfit. I just said I wanted one- that seems normal, right?

Welcoming Spring in Pink Jeans

Welcoming Spring in Pink Jeans

I have a confession everyone: I love pink. I was on Pinterest a few days ago and declared to my brother that I had found my dream house, a pink-brick three-story, complete with a cute balcony. And I of course have pink tops, shoes and other accessories, home accents, etc. BUT, I just recently bought my first pair of pink jeans and looooove them so much. And the more I wear them, the more I realize, pink is basically a neutral. It goes with everything, right? ;)

Why So Wintery, Spring?

Why So Wintery, Spring?

You guys. Winter. Is never. Ending. Although I'm totally over it, I did notice this week that there are some spring-things popping out - green grass and buds on trees. I've heard people say this past week, "don't complain when it gets hot outside that you're too hot." Umm....ok, trust me, you will never hear me complain that I'm too hot. You will however hear me complain when it's snowing in April that, well, it's snowing in April. And it's cold. And it's snowing in April.
