We've almost made it guys! The weekend is so close we can taste it and I'm pretty excited about it! I've had a busy week and got an unexpected visit from family today that had myself and niece taking a walk and enjoying the nice weather, people watching and sipping ice tea outside. We also got talking about our most "embarrassing" moments. If you're into laughing at the expense of others, stay tuned for mine below:)
But first, I bring you, "What to Wear on a Cool Summer Night." In about three months, I'll regurgitate this to, "What to Wear on a Warm Fall Day." Approximately five months after that, this post will become, "A Casual Spring Outfit." You might be sensing some things here: 1) I'm lazy and don't want to write any more posts than I have to, and 2) I absolutely positively ADORE versatile pieces.
Thankfully during the summer months, I don't have to worry about usually getting cold. BUT, there are places that keep the air set to about 45 (no really, I swear) and occasionally, the temps will dip to 65-70, which is far from cold, but when days are consistently hot and humid, there are times 65-70 definitely feels chilly. When that happens I can't help but love a cute sweater that has summer vibes (you know, like embroidered flowers), to wear with cutoffs and sandals.
Enter this cutie I picked up recently at Ivy Boutique in Valpo. It's not available online but if you're in the Northwest Indiana, definitely stop by - it's also available in white. As I mentioned above, I gravitate toward versatile pieces and I feel like this sweater is a year-round option as in the winter, it will be perfect with skinny jeans and boots.
Do you currently have a piece you wear year-round? If so, give me the scoop in the comments below so I can hunt it down and add it to my closet!
Ok, so drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (that's not a spelling error - that's me wanting you to make the sound of a drum roll in your head, did it work?)....the moment you've all been waiting for, my MOST embarrassing moment, get ready, it's a good one. Sooo, awhile back, I was asked to participate in a fashion show - one with actual models as well as "real" people. If this sounds like an episode of Sex and the City, that's probably where they got the idea. When I said yes, I had no idea I was about to have my very own painful Carrie Bradshaw moment.
Anyways, I was picked to wear this GORGEOUS white dress that had a very wide cowl neck. The whole time prior to my big walk, it felt a little big up top. But, it wasn't slipping and I thought it was because of all of the extra fabric at the neckline. Maybe you can sense where this is going, BUT, long story short, I made it down the escalator (the first part of the "runway") and turned to walk by the crowd. I got about five steps in, and BOOM, my boob fell out. Right out guys. I was wearing a flesh colored stick-on bra (it was a backless dress), so although "technically" my boob isn't what everyone saw, that's what everyone thought they saw.
It's weird, but they haven't asked me to participate in that again. Not sure why.
And on that note, happy weekend everyone! Hope you make time to get out and enjoy yourselves!
