OMG, it's been a minute! Summer has had me busier than ever so, since we last left off, I've gone to Florida for a quick vacation, done a million and one (not even exaggerating), product shoots for numerous clients and felt like I was losing my mind maybe once or twice (or nine or ten) times. NBD. But, I think that this week is the week I am back on schedule and I honestly am so excited.  Some people thrive without a schedule...I am not one of those people.

Alright....so....before I talk endlessly about how much I love mixing prints and mixing patterns and mixing cookies....oops, wrong topic. I just like cookies. Anyways, I have a confession. The outfit you see in these photos, were the first two things I ever purchased on Amazon. And, I just got them this summer. From a gift card I'd had since February that every time I tried to use, I'd just get overwhelmed and leave.  But, after 4 months of very careful deliberation, I ordered these pieces, plus an additional super cute dress. So yeah. I like to take my time and be ridiculously thorough when I shop.

On to mixed prints. I love them. And mixing a print isn't as complicated as it might seem. Honest. Use these tips to pull off a fun mixed print look of your own:

1) Colors don't have to match, but they should coordinate. And if you're not sure if one color coordinates with another, then make sure one of the pieces uses neutral tones (black and white for example).

2) Bold+Delicate=Perfection. This one is simple. Bold obvious prints with simple, delicate patterns will usually work.

3) Mix-and-Match the same print or pattern using the above rules. So a BIG stripe with a coordinating thin stripe. A bold floral with a feminine teeny-tine one.
