The Fall Staples you Need in your Closet Right Now

What Do I Wear in Fall?
We ask this question each and every fall, because let’s face it: it’s not really fall without cute fall outfits:) The hard thing about this season is that, at least in the Midwest, it still feels like summer. So although we’re mentally ready for sweaters and boots, wellll….we’re still waiting patiently.
(I think) this upcoming weekend will be the perfect time to break out this jeans and sweater outfit, or any slouchy off the shoulder sweater, and some peep-toe mule booties, like these Lucky Brand ones I snagged on clearance from DSW last year. This also reminds me, do you all frequently shop the DSW in-store clearance section? I paid under $20 for them and they have been staples in my closet ever since - I’ve worn with them with jeans, leggings, dresses and shorts.
This is definitely my fall uniform on the weekends, although I tend to wear oversized off the shoulder sweater outfits fairly regularly in the cold weather months. That said, I also can be seen frequently in pleated skirts (shocking since just about every other post here is me wearing a pleated skirt), and other cozy-chic knits.
Weekend looks can be difficult because I feel like my weekend events are always polar opposites: running or working out, house or yard work, lots of blog prep and hopefully something social with friends. I literally could change 3 to 4 times in any given weekend day, and each outfit is completely different: 1) The outfit I can sweat in and not wear anywhere else, 2) the outfit I can work around the house in, and I don’t care if it’s perfect, but it can’t look too bad, because I also might run errands in it, 3) loungewear to write, edit or answer emails in and 4) the cute outfit I can’t wait to wear. Please tell me I’m not alone here ladies!
All of that said, jeans, sweaters and boots are just too easy not to wear in the fall.
What are some of your go-to weekend looks?
What I’ve Been Up To
Each and every week I hope the next week will get just a little bit easier, or less busy, BUT, that’s not happening quite yet. Practices with my team have been keeping me on my toes and our first game is this weekend. Yay! Aside from that, this past week, I’ve taken oodles of pictures - both projects for my blog and some lifestyle photos for clients that have nothing to do with my blog. I’m also working on my first lil’ “Come Shop with Me” video for IGTV. Oh, and I’ve helped (and am this week too) fill in at a local boutique as well. Now I realized why I feel like a chicken with my head cut off…it all makes sense:)
Hope your week is off to a great start, happy Monday!
