Happy Tuesday friends! The past few days have been scorchers - for the record, I am not complaining. You will not hear me complain about the heat...the cold, on the other hand, I do get bitter about. So, if you happen to be new here, just know that prior to winter:)
I cannot believe we're already to July! This is one of my favorite months, it's just so chill, right??? Last-minute get-togethers, dining outdoors, farmer's markets...there's always so much to do, but in a completely unpretentious way. For some reason, winter months make me feel like I always have to "get ready" before I do anything. July, and summer in general, is more come-as-you-are and you'll fit right in. I love it!
So if you're in a summer style rut, or just want to have a few go-to pieces that you can easily mix-and-match or throw on for last minute BBQ's, I've got some perfect outfit ideas for you. How absolutely adorable is this Tommy Hilfiger top from Macy's, BTW? I love the loose fit, which makes it great for a hot day, but perfect if you love a good half-tuck or knotted look like I do. The navy stars are just-right for summer and make it so easy to coordinate with any of your favorite cutoffs or jeans.

Tips for PIcking Out an Easy, Casual Summer Look:
1) A Fun Print Always Works in Summer: In winter, I am so much more low-key, but in summer, I gravitate toward all the fun prints. Lately, I've not just been wearing stars, but pineapple, florals and stripes. And when I say "gravitate," it literally is like a magnetic force pulling me over to those pieces.
2) Keep It Simple: Go-to summer outfits need to be a little more laid back, but chic, so that no matter what the occasion, your outfit works. For instance, I've been wearing this cute star top with boyfriend jeans and gold espadrille-sneakers. It's casual, but super cute and is great for walking around town to coffee, dinner or drinks with friends. Other pieces that are just as versatile and great for summer are t-shirt dresses or tank dress and flats or sandals.
3) Cool and Comfortable: Shorts and loose fitting tops, or easy-breezy dresses are always a good idea for July. Remember a jacket or cardigan, just in case it cools off in the evening, or you take the party into an overly air-conditioned space.
4) Eat s'mores. All day long. This tip might not be outfit related - but it will definitely help you have an amazing summer. Obvi.
I can't wait to show you this top a few different ways over the coming months - I've also paired it with some dark gray skinny jeans and pointed toe heels and OMG - it totally has this fun rocker-chic vibe. So cute!!!
